More than 1150 guests experienced an emotional concert for Ukraine in Munich

Impressions of the “Concert for Tomorrow

Despite hot summer temperatures, more than 1150 guests attended the benefit concert “Concert for Tomorrow” at the Munich Isarphilharmonie on June 18. Together with the Munich-Ukrainian Symphony Orchestra, the exceptional violinist Arabella Steinbacher, the tenor Levy Sekgapane and the cellist Oleksandr Piriyev created a unique musical atmosphere and made a successful benefit concert for the children in Ukraine possible.

The evening was also marked by emotional performances, such as that of Ukrainian violinist Jelisaweta Saizewa, who talked to moderator Annekatrin Hentschel about her personal war experiences but also about the special cohesion within the orchestra.

After the concert, help alliance Managing Director Andrea Pernkopf was pleased and grateful for the successful event: “The “Concert for Tomorrow” is the best proof that an event of this magnitude can be realized in just five weeks with a very diverse but highly motivated team. My thanks go in particular to the numerous supporters and partners who made this special event possible at such short notice.” Initiator Olivier Krüger (CEO Lufthansa Systems), who had the idea for this benefit concert together with conductor Michael Balke, is also touched by the support: “A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this unique evening – it’s one of the most emotional moments in my life.”

The donations collected through ticket sales and during the concert will be used to renovate and re-equip the music school in Butscha, which was damaged during the war. With the help of music, the hope for a better “tomorrow” for the children in Butscha will thus hopefully soon become a reality.

If you were not able to join us, you can still watch the entire livestream of the “Concert for Tomorrow” here on our site. There is also still the possibility to donate for the project in Butscha. We would like to thank all supporters and donors!
